The flood and puddle handling in the capital is deemed good. It can be seen from the declining number of flooded locations and duration of inundation receded less than 24 hours.

"In Jakarta, there is no flooding. Definition of flooding is a puddle of water for up to 24 hours. If it is over two to three hours of low tide, it's called a puddle," said Sumarsono, Jakarta Acting Governor, Saturday (12/24).

He disclosed, entering June 2016, puddle in the capital is recorded reaching 185 locations. The number is decreasing compared to the same year, which were 486 locations.

"In July, the number continues to decrease 80 points," he continued.

It is due to construction of reservoir and channel cleaning. 

"If 183 pumps are good in performance, flooding can be minimized. But, the thing that must be anticipated now is a disease of post puddle," he said.
