Teluk Gong Pump House Needs Elevation

The presence of the Telok Gong Pump House, Pejagalan, North Jakarta is vulnerable to flooding. Therefore, the urban village side hopes elevation of the pump house.

Pejaglan Urban Village Head, Yogara Fernandes disclosed the Teluk Gong Pump House is functioning to flow water from Teluk Gong Reservoir towards Angke River. If it is maximal, the pump could minimize flooding in RW 08, 10, 12 and 13.

"After being checked, the pump is in good condition. The generator, following diesel stockpiles 1,300 liters is also enough activating the pump if the electricity goes off," he expressed, Wednesday (1/4).

Despite it is in good condition, Yogara assessed, its existence must be elevated. As in 2013 and 2014, it could not be functioned due to pump house inundated. It caused flooding in four RWs with water level about 1 meter.

"We'll propose it to Water Management Dept to be followed up," he closed.
