Acting Jakarta Governor (Plt) Sumarsono hoped that Betawi culture socialization will be intensified continuously even his functional period will be ended in February. One of them is organizing a large scale Betawi Culture Festival on Jl. Thamrin to Monas.

"I only serving until February 11. But I dreamed there is an annual celebration massively , and Betawi Cultural Festival is displayed on Jl. Thamrin and Monas," he said, Tuesday (1/24).

Sumarsono added that the festival features 1,000 ondel-ondels lined up along Jl. MH Thamrin. Simultaneously, art stage and culinary will be held in Monas area.

"Once in a while we should show a massive Betawi festival. Thousand ondel-ondels, plus there are culinary and Betawi dance stage in Monas," he added.

Sumarsono hopes that his dream will be realized. Therefore, he handed it over to humanist, Betawi Forum (Bamus), intellectual, and Betawi culture lovers community to make it happen.
