Jakarta Provincial Government insisted will not to try new technology for applying the pay road system or Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) in City.
We wanted to do something that has never been done in the city before
City Transportation Dept. Head, Andri Yansyah said that referring to revision of Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 149/2016 about Traffic Handling with ERP pay road system which already accommodate City needs.
"We wanted to do something that has never been done in the city before. This is not a test. We look at something we needed," he said at City Hall, Thursday (1/26).
City Learns All ERP Technology SystemAndri explained that in Pergub revision is no longer mentioning about technology to be used. City adjusts the technology that has been applied in the world.
"What we need is not on the highway, but on road. Like when passing by, is not need to stop, etc," he explained.
He added that with this regulation revision, the ongoing auction process could be hampered, even repeated for several reasons. "If it must be repeated, then repeated. If not repeated, then it continues. We have not on technology auction yet," he added.
Previously, City Transportation Department requested survey assistance to see ERP technology which is used in some countries. Mostly the technology they used is Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) 5.8 GHz with LPR camera.
