PT Transjakarta President Director, Budi Kaliwono, said that several vintage bus units already been operated at Corridor 1 (Blok M-Kota route).

"There are only 6 units for now. Later we will add to be 10 units that will be operated," he said at City Hall, Tuesday (2/14).

According to him, the deep blue color that coats the bus is inspired from the PPD bus in 1960's era. The bus floor is lined with a carpet of wood motif to add the vintage nuance.

"The bus has a capacity of 60-70 passengers or the same with other Transjakarta buses," he explained.

He added two of them are also completed with telolet horn. They will not serve corridor I, but other corridors.

At that time, Jakarta Governor Basuki T. Purnama also tried to drive the bus. He hoped, it could attract private vehicles to use public transport.

As known, the bus is production of Ungaran, East Java that uses Mercedes Benz's engine.
