Ciliwung River Overflowing and Flooding 30 RWs

Additional flood from Katulampa Dam, Bogor, West Java, made Ciliwung River surrounding areas got flooded.

Water start to flood in residents since 6 A.M. In East Jakarta there are 2,393 families (KK) or 7,789 people got affected

Referring to City Regional Disaster Handling (BPBD) data, there were 18 RWs in six urban villages flooded.

"Water started to flood in residents since 6 AM. In East Jakarta there are 2,393 families (KK) or 7,789 people got affected," said Husein Murad, Head of City BPBD, Thursday (2/16).

He specified that in Cibubur, water overflowing to three RWs and reached about 30-100 centimeters tall. While in Cawang, five RWs got flooded about 50-100 centimeters tall.  

"In Kampung Melayu there are 5 RWs got flooded 30-100 centimeters. While in Bidara Cina, 3 RWs flooded by 20-80 centimeters," he added.

He continued in South Jakarta there were 12 RWs in five urban villages got flooded. Detailed, 6 RWs in Pejaten Timur reached 30-150 centimeters and 1 RW in Kebon Baru reached 20-40 centimeters.

While 1 RW in Pengadengan reached 20-70 centimeters, 3 RWs in Bukit Duri reached 20-40 centimeters.

"In South Jakarta, there are 293 Families got affected," he continued.

He further said that in East Jakarta and South Jakarta, overflowing water from Ciliwung river made 30 RWs, 11 urban villages, and six sub-districts flooded.
