Basuki: No Nightclub Operational Hour Limitation

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama revealed that Jakarta Provincial Government will not impose limit on nightclub operational hour to only until 11 PM.

No, there isn’t. We don’t have plan to limit (nightclub’s) operational hour

No, there isn’t. We don’t have plan to limit (nightclub’s) operational hour,” stated Basuki at City Hall, Tuesday (6/3).

The statement was conveyed to answer the news reported by an online media that said Jakarta Provincial Government was planning to limit the operational hour of nightclubs in Jakarta until 11 PM due to rampant drugs transaction because nightclubs are operating until morning.

City will Not Give New Permit for Stadium Discotheque

According to Basuki, Jakarta Provincial Government together with the Indonesian Police Criminal Investigation Division is currently focused on combating drugs trafficking in Jakarta.

“There is no (nightclub’s) operational hour limitation. There is only drugs transaction prohibition. If a nightclub got caught involved in drugs trafficking twice, we will shut it down, just like the Stadium,” he asserted.

As known, Jakarta Provincial Government has revoked the operational permit of Stadium Nightclub, Mangga Besar, West Jakarta, in mid-May.
