City to Launch Non-Cash Food Aid Program

BPNT receiver is underprivileged people who may withdraw the non-cash aid via e-Warong and bank agent

Jakarta Social Dept. is going to launch a Non-Cash Food Aid (BPNT) program for underprivileged families in five cities, Thursday (2/23). The program is targeting the Beneficiary Families (KPM) for Prosperous (KKS) Family Card.

Jakarta Social Dept. Head, Masrokhan disclosed, the BPNT receiver will get aid by Rp 110,000 each month to redeem 10 kg of rice worth Rp 8,500 per kg and 2 kg of sugar Rp 12.500 per kg.

"BPNT receiver is underprivileged people who may withdraw the non-cash aid via e-Warong and bank agent," he expressed, Wednesday (2/22).

According to the data, there are 214,249 underprivileged families as receiver of program by name by address, which will get BPNT. The data has been submitted to Ministry of Social thus they could redeem the KKS.

As the initial stage, BPNT will be prioritized to the Hope Family Program (PKH), which has received KKS. As for those who have no KKS, such as rice receive would receive BPNT for the next stage. 

"KKS is a kind of ATM to disburse non-cash aid. So the aid will directly arrive to the receiver, and just use it," he explained.

Jakarta Social Dept.'s Empowerment Section Head, Susi Dwi Harini added has coordinated by collecting the officer to assure the course of the program. The officer would assist and assure the aid distribution toward the receiver. 

"We've been collecting Executing Units of Jakarta Sub-district Social, Sub-district Social Welfare Worker and PKH companion for the perception and success of BPNT," she stated. 

In Central Jakarta, the program launching will be held at Senen GOR, North Jakarta at Tugu Stadium, West Jakarta at e-Warong of Meruya Utara Urban Village, South Jakarta at Gandaria Utara GOR and East Jakarta at Otista GOR.
