They must be ready working or looking for side job when extreme weather pours

"They (fishermen) must have know pattern of good weather and not to go to sea. So, they have to be more anticipatory," said Pantas Nainggolan, Chairman of City DPRD Commission E, Tuesday (2/28).

Bad Weather, No Sailing for Lancang Island Fishermen

Nainggolan suggested the small-class fishermen should try to earn a living by finding side job for a living.

"They must be ready working or looking for side job when extreme weather pours," he explained.

The executive could provide aid to those who cannot go to sea because of high waves.

"Decent life for fishermen must be the concern of local government," he stated.

As reported before, due to extreme weather and high waves, the fishermen in Seribu Islands rely on pomfret fish. While for the yellowtail fish which is the main commodity of making salted fish became elusive.
