Seribu Islands residents are requesting a water hydrant to minimize fire disaster in their respective region. It can be spotted from residents of Kelapa Dua Island, because most homes are rumah panggung (wooden-stilt homes).

"We want hydrant in each residential. And about water pump aid, it is easily damaged and rusty," expressed Fadli, Head of Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands, Saturday (3/11).

Regarding resident request, Eko Mahendro, Sector Head of South Seribu Islands Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. stated, until now, hydrant is only found in Panggang Island. Each is able to supply 20 points of hydrant. But it does not exist in other island residential. 

"Our duty is just maintenance and operational. About procurement, we'll coordinate it with Housing Sub-dept.," he said.
