Jakarta Health Dept. held socialization about measles and rubella (MR) vaccine immunization to community health center (puskesmas) personnel, cadre of Pembina Kesehatan Keluarga (PKK), Education Dept., and Jakarta Statistics, Information, and Communications Dept. (Kominfotik) in a hotel on Jl. K.H. Zainul Arifin, Petojo Selatan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (3/14).

As for anticipation, we will do vaccination in next August to September

Jakarta Health Dept. Disease Control and Prevention Division Head, Widyastuti said socialization will be held massively in five cities and one regency starting next week.

"We will hold campaign about the dangers of Rubella virus or known as German measles. As for anticipation, we will do vaccination in next August to September ," she said, Tuesday (3/14).

She explained that unlike measles that targeting children aged nine month, MR immunization will target children aged nine month to 15 years. Thus, this implementation also targeted up to middle school students.

She added this virus symptoms are similar to measles. But it has potential to attack patient's respiratory tract.

"Roadshow will be started next week. All schools, health center, integrated health service (posyandu), and hospital become our target," she closed.
