Sidewalk on Jalan Tubagus Angke Occupied by Street Vendors

People are no longer able to freely pass on sidewalk on Jalan Tubagus Angke, Jembatan Dua Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District, West Jakarta, because the sidewalk as wide as 1.5 meters and as long as 200 meters is occupied by street vendors selling used bicycles until stone rings or agate. Not to mention the traffic congestion it causes, because many buyers parked their vehicles on roadside. Ironically, this condition has been going on for nearly 10 years.

We have repeatedly controlled the street vendors and even seized their wares. But, not long after the raid, they returned again and occupied the land

Similar condition is also spotted on Jalan Bangun Nusa, precisely from in front of PD Pasar Jaya Cengkareng, until in front of Bangun Nusa Residential Complex, for as long as 300 meters. At 11 PM-10 AM, hundreds of vegetable sellers crowded both sides of the area until causing traffic congestion.

Responding this matter, Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Kadiman Sitinjak, denied if said that his party deliberately left the street vendors hawking their merchandises. He asserted that the street vendors in both locations have been controlled numerous times.
