The cheap market for staple foods will be opened in 70 locations that spread accros five urban villages. It is purposed to anticipate the stock availability and control food prices ahead of Ramadhan.

"Cheap market will offer rice, beef, chicken meat, cooking oil, chili pepper, red onion and so forth," disclosed Jakarta Economic Affairs Bureau Head, Sri Haryati, Monday (4/24).

Those staples will come from PD Dharma Jaya, PD Pasar Jaya and Food Station Tjipinang Jaya.

"We've prepared 15,000-25,000 tons of back-up rice, 600-1,000 tons of one-kilogram sugar, as well as 1 liter of cooking oil," she stated.

Particularly for beef, PD Dharma Jaya has prepared 500 tons of beef.

Along with Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. and KUKMP Dept., her party would also supervise the traditional and modern markets.

"It is done to protect the buyers from dangerous products," she closed.
