Council Supported Jakarta Theater Building Renovation Plan

City Council Commission D Chairman, Iman Satria positively supported Jakarta Theater Building renovation plan in Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Menteng, Central Jakarta.

TIM is really needed by citizen. Because this place produce many artists and humanists

According to him, this renovation is needed because TIM area, especially Jakarta Theater Building, is the place for artist's creativity, expression, and achievement in arts.

"TIM is really needed by citizen. This place produces many artists and humanists," he said, Tuesday (4/24).

Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakarta Theatre will Be Renovated

He added that it is natural for City to give attention to TIM complex revitalization which becomes one of the art and culture centers and also Jakarta historical icon.

 

"In this location, there are Jakarta Institute of Art (IKJ), Planetarium, modern theater, gallery, archive building, and cinema. TIM complex must be preserved," he closed.

Jakarta Provincial Government plans to renovate Jakarta Theater Building in 2018 with total budget Rp 22 billion.

Jakarta Theater Building with a three-floor building area of 6 thousand square meters recently has a lot of damage. Such as roof leakage, electric mechanical and escalator which cannot be operated.
