Seribu Islands Environment Sub-dept. together with diver community held communal work in Karya Island water today. From that activity, 20 professional divers who also participating this action, succeed transported 142.2 kilograms of trash from the seabed.
Besides preventing environmental pollution, this activity also beneficial to open diving and snorkeling spots for our tourism
"They transported 142.2 kilograms of trash from seabed of Karya Island. That trash will be collected and sent to main island using a
ship," said Yusen Hardiman, Head of Seribu Islands Environment Sub-dept., Monday (5/8).He stated, 142.2 kilograms of trash is transported from Karya Island water successfully. It is mostly contains of garbage rope, plastic bags, food and bottle wrappers, and beverage cans.
