A number of private companies are interested to join in the construction of Giant Sea Wall (GSW) through program of National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) phase B. Those companies are metallurgy from China and construction company.
Head of Jakarta Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Andi Baso Mappapoleonro disclosed the acceleration project of NCICD phase B is an outer sea dike construction integrated with land reclamation or part of Garuda Sea Wall.

According to Baso, the project must be carried out soon. Nevertheless, his side has yet to ensure when it can be realized. "At least, there is a deal, thus we could begin the project next year, because the companies want to join in 17 islands (phase A). Maximally, they could already begin the project next year," he expressed.
Such project is done in conjunction with a new road connection project from Bekasi-Tangerang. It would be built this year and is targeted for completion in 2022, while the development of residential areas will continue until 2030-2040.
As known, Rp 200 trillion was planned will be spent to build a Giant Sea Wall along the Jakarta bay. It is an idea of former Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo, which aims to anticipate tidal wave and serves as a water storage.
