Channel on Jalan Teratai Putih Normalized

A 605-meter-long water channel on Jalan Teratai Putih, Malaka Sari, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta is normalized in order to minimize inundation that occurs when it rains. 

We do this, as the area is prone to inundation

Based on Beritajakarta.id, Tuesday (6/6), tens of workers are seen busy dredging the channel. They also replace the old sheet pile with U Ditch model. 

City Focuses on Three Rivers Normalization This Year

The channel is located on west side of the road, precisely in front of Ramayana or Perumnas Klender Market until the end of the road that is the meeting point with the connecting channel of Jalan l Gusti Ngurah Rai.

Yoserizal, Section Head of Maintenance for East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. stated, normalization is carried out to follow up the communal work at city level a few months ago.

Besides dry, there are seen a lot of clogging garbage and sedimentation. The channel is dredged dredged and widened from 80 centimeters to 1.2 meters, as well as concreted.

"We do this, as the area is prone to inundation. Besides that, we also do widening and put up U Ditch concrete there," he told.

Along the channel would be covered using U Ditch concrete as wide as 1.2 metesr and 1.2-1.5 meter high.

Until now, it has reached 50 percent and is targeted to be completed by the end of this June.
