10 GORs Renovation Targeted to Finish Before Asian Games

Jakarta Provincial Government has a task from central government to renovate 10 sport centers (GOR)s. Renovation is targeted to be finished before Asian Games XVIII.

It is considered total cost to renovate 10 GORs and one stadium reaches Rp 52,483 billion

Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat explained, this renovation request has been submitted by Ministry of Sport and Youth (Kemenpora) at meeting on June 2, 2017.

"At that time, Kemenpora asked City Government to provide Asian Games training venue for volley and basketball sports. We also have a task to build stadium for softball and baseball," he said, Sunday (6/18).

According to him, his side will use fund from developer's compensation from building floor coefficient (KLB) because 10 GORs and stadium construction are prioritized.

"This must be realized immediately. Construction will be late if we use Revised City Budget 2017," he expressed.

He added, GOR renovation must meet international standard. Thus several materials are need to be imported. "It is considered total cost to renovate 10 GORs and one stadium reaches Rp 52,483 billion," he added.

Meanwhile, Youth and Sport Dept. Head, Ratiyono explained, 10 GORs that will be renovated are, Pulogadung GOR, Cempaka Putih GOR, Sunter GOR, Soemantri Brodjonegoro GOR, Bulungan GOR, Ragunan GOR, Senen GOR, West Jakarta GOR, North Jakarta GOR, and East Jakarta GOR.

"Stadium for baseball and softball sports will be built in Rawamangun, East Jakarta. All construction work is targeted to finish before August 18, 2018," he closed.
