206,135 Homecomers Returned to Jakarta Via AKAP Terminal

As many as 206,135 people have entered Jakarta via three Intercity Interprovincial (AKAP) bus terminals from June 27 to July 2. They arrived by using 7,428 buses from various provinces.

This year's homecoming flow and back flow implementation is generally more prepared than the previous year

Jakarta Transportation Dept.'s Operational Handling Division Head (Kabid Dalops), Maruli Sijabat said, peak of homecoming back flow happened on Saturday (7/1) and Sunday (7/2).

On Saturday, as many as 1,303 buses with 43,261 passengers have arrived at three main terminals and five additional terminals. While 43,874 passengers with 1,503 buses arrived on Sunday.

"This year's homecoming flow and back flow implementation is generally more prepared than the previous year. Number of passenger is also higher," he said, Monday (7/3).

Jakarta Terminal Management Unit Head, M. Faisol added, AKAP bus passenger during D-10 until D-1 of Eid at main and additional terminals increased up to 23.87 percent or around 184,437 people compared to previous year which is around 148,896 people.

Meanwhile, number of departed AKAP bus is decreased 15.96 percent into 9,854 units. Last year was around 11,726 units. According to him, it was caused by tight and firm ramp check that has been conducted this year.

"Improved security aspect on driver and passenger is prioritized. Thus passenger can be transported more optimally according to number of bus," he closed.
