MRT Construction Phase II will Start Next Year

Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction phase II (Bundaran HI-Kampung Bandan Route) will start in 2018. Currently, that mega project is in basic engineering design phase.

We plan to conduct Phase II's groundbreaking to be done next year with continuing Phase I

PT. MRT Jakarta President Director, William P. Sabandar said MRT Phase II is planned to be built along 8.3 kilometers. This project's feasibility study (FS) has finished some time ago.

"We plan to conduct Phase II's groundbreaking to be done next year with continuing Phase I," he expressed at Cikini area, Wednesday (7/5).

MRT Project Has Reached 71.39 Percent

He explained MRT Phase II will have eight underground stations that in Sarinah, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, Kota and Kampung Bandan. Budget Rp 25.1 trillion is allocated to construct MRT Phase II.

"We have coordinated with central goverment to continue MRT construction Phase II," he closed.

For information, PT. MRT Jakarta is in progress to build MRT Ph ase I (Lebak Bulus-Bundaran HI). Construction of MRT Phase I now has reached 74.89 percent and will operate in March 2019.
