150 People Undergo Cervical Cancer Detection at Pulogadung Puskesmas

150 residents undergo free cervical cancer early detection in Pulogadung Sub-district Puskesmas, East Jakarta. The officer gives socialization and education related to healthy lifestyle.

East Jakarta Community Welfare Assistant, Ari Sonjaya said cervical cancer early detection program is collaboration between BPJS Kesehatan with East Jakarta Administration. It also gets support from Health Sub-dept., as well as its staffs and Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital.

"Through early detection, people especially mothers are educated about the dangers of cervical cancer. They are also directly checked up by the puskesmas medical team," he expressed, when he opened the program, Thursday (7/13). 

Meanwhile, East Jakarta BPJS Kesehatan Head, Besty Magdalena Orlica Roeroe said early detection program and cervical cancer check-up is free of charge, especially users of Indonesia Health Card (KIS) under the National Health Insurance (JKN).

"We socialize and educate them about benefits of cervical cancer early detection and IVA/Pap Smear check-up for JKN-KIS participants," she stated.

This year her side is targeting 1,000 people to conduct IVA test and 250 people to conduct Pap Smear. The program will continue to be done towards Women of reproductive age "user of JKN-KIS".

As experienced by Diana (42), one of participants admitted, she was happy with the program. "This is very good, we become more confident," she admitted.
