17,123 People Visited Maritime Museum

Jakarta Maritime Museum (Museum Bahari) located at Jl. Pasar Ikan, RT 11/04, Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta has been visited by 17,123 visitors within January-June 2017 periods.

From 2015 to 2016, number of visitor increased up

Maritime Museum Information and Education Staff, Sukma Wijaya mentioned, there were 30,615 visitors in 2015 and 38,310 visitors in 2016.

"From 2015 to 2016, number of visitor increased up," he said, Monday (7/24).

2017, Pasar Ikan Culture Heritage Building Restored

He explained, the building has been used as museum since 1718. Previously, this building was used as spices warehouse by Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC).

"This building was inaugurated as Maritime Museum in 1977 with various collection of traditional boats, sailing tools, and modern ship miniature," he closed.
