Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetion Edi Marsudi wants a mutually beneficial results in the issue of citizens with Jakarta Education Dept. regarding renovation of SMPN 22 on Jalan Jembatan Batu, Pinangsia, West Jakarta.

Residents here can be called educational heroes for keeping our assets

Prasetio expressed Education Dept. must consider the social aspect. Considering, residents consisting of 16 households have been occupying the school for decades.

"Residents here can be called educational heroes for keeping our assets," he expressed, during mediation at City Council building, Tuesday (8/1).

According to him, based on the data results, principally, they are willing to accept consequence over renovation planned by Education Dept.  

"But they want a decent place," he stated. 

He admitted will follow up again such matter by reviewing the condition in the field, along with Commission E and Education Dept. tomorrow, Thursday (8/3).

"This is a must, as there is a possibility that the related unit doesn't know the case," he told.

At the same time, Jakarta Education Dept. Head, Sopan Adrianto expressed, SMPN 22 is one of the schools that will be renovated this year. As a consequence, residents living in the school should be relocated.

"But we had to cancel it temporarily, as there is unfinished problem. We want to find the best solution first for better results," he closed.
