KPKP Dept. Targeted 77 Locations for Green Alley

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. will conduct greening in 77 alleys in five Jakarta regions this year.

Local residents will be encouraged to cultivate plants by using pots and hydroponic.
Jakarta KPKP Dept. Head, Darjamuni said, narrow space usage for cultivation is not only beneficial to environment but also food tenacity.
Tanjung Priok Sub-district Keeps Intensifying Greening"We will train the local residents who live in projected green alleys 2017 and green alleys 2016. We will coach them to develop urban farming," he said, Wednesday (8/2).
He explained, theory that will be given to residents are about yard and environment utilization, narrow space utilization by using pots and hydroponic system for family food tenacity, biological fertilizer utilization, introduction to hand sprayer and its usage, urban farming and health, and socialization about plant center service.
Not only theory and urban farming coaching, residents of green alleys 2017 and green alleys 2016 will be equipped by hand sprayer, plant shelf, pruning shear, hose, polybag, plastic pot, growing media, productive plants, medicinal plants, seeds, and vegetable seeds.
Besides, KPKP Dept. is also preparing agricultural extension officers at city level to accompany alley greening process in each regions.
"We are targeting 75 locations plus two which requested by Jakarta representative of Indonesia Bank as CSR that help urban farming development," he closed.
