Monumen Nasional (Monas) is illuminated by color lamps in accordance to ASEAN emblem colors until August 8, 2017. This is done in order to commemorate 50th anniversary of ASEAN (Southeast Asia) cooperation institution establishment.
This is also to disseminate into the public regarding ASEAN anniversary
"Red, blue, and yellow colors symbolized the ASEAN countries. This is done according to Foreign Affairs Ministry request," said Sabdo Kurnianto, Head of Monas Are Management Office (KPK), Friday (8/4).
According to him, this is also to socialize the commemoration of
50th anniversary of ASEAN. Thus young generation will know and learn the institution's background.Colorful Lights Will Accompany Operational of Pesona Monas Fountain"This is also to disseminate into the public regarding ASEAN anniversary. This light will be turned on at 5 P.M. to 6 A.M.," he closed.
