Since January until mid-August 2017, West Jakarta Forestry Sub-dept. has pruned 3,673 trees alongside protocol, artery and neighborhood roads in eight sub-districts.

According to Aris Firmansyah, Head of West Jakarta Forestry Sub-dept., his sub-dept. is routinely conducting tree pruning on some roads to anticipate unwanted things, especially in bad weather.

Of 3,373 trees, he continued, 2,327 out of them are pruned with mild level, 729 trees are pruned with medium level and 617 trees are pruned with heavy level.
"Heavy tree pruning is done by cutting down branches of trees. If it's mild level, we just cut down its leaves," he explained.
His sub-dept. currently has operational fleet limitations for tree pruning. Ideally, each sub-district has one operational fleet.
"Right now, we just have five fleets of operational vehicle for park and lane in West Jakarta. We're still awaiting auction process for the procurement of operational fleet," he closed.
