Street Vendors’ Stalls in Front of Pulogadung Terminal Demolished

Due to hampering the flow of vehicles coming in and out of Pulogadung Terminal, East Jakarta, local Satpol PP tore down tens of street vendors’ stalls in front of the terminal gate and along Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Thursday (6/19).

We’ve repeatedly warned the street vendors not to trade in those locations, but they ignored it. That’s why we forcibly demolish their stalls today

We’ve repeatedly warned the street vendors not to trade in those locations, but they ignored it. That’s why we forcibly demolish their stalls today. The terminal operator should’ve not given them permit to trade there because it disturbed public transports coming in and out of the terminal,” stated Head of East Jakarta Satpol PP Operational Section, Agus Sidiki.

Illegal Buildings Near Gondangdia Station Demolished

Because of that, Sidiki told that he has asked East Jakarta Small Micro Medium Business Cooperation and Trade (KUMKMP) Sub-Department to monitor the street vendors and give them guidance.

“KUMKMP Sub-Department should have made arrangements from the beginning and not burdening us whenever the amount of street vendors increasing,” he lamented.

In this raid, Satpol PP personnel also tore down two illegal huts located under Kali Sodong Bridge on Jalan Raya Cipinang Baru Utara.
