City Still Needs More Motor Vehicles Test Lanes

Jakarta Transportation Dept. is still lack of lane for test motor vehicle. According to the recommendation, the required test lanes for motor vehicles amount to 21 units.

According to Andri Yansyah, Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept., from five motor vehicle testing (PKB) sites, only 14 out of 21 lanes are recommended.

"We still lack seven lanes again, as ideally there should be 21 lanes to maximize service," he expressed, during executive meeting at City Hall, Monday (8/28).

Thus far, from five PKB sites, there are only three of them operated. They are Ujung Menteng PKB, Cilincing PKB and Pulogadung PKB. While for Kedaung Angke PKB is not yet operated, as it is still waiting for the online system.

"Then in Jagakarsa, it will also be operated to add kir test lanes. There will be five lanes," he stated.

He added, from 14 in such three places, there are only lanes operated, as lanes of Kedaung Angke PKB have not been operated. Eight lanes are able to test 1,431 vehicles every day.

"Ideally, from eight lanes, 980 vehicles are tested every day. But to maximize the service, the test will be optimized," he closed.
