Jakarta Council for National Handicrafts Indonesia (Dekranasda) Chairperson, Happy Farida Hidayat, inaugurated a batik-training center of Marunda Flat, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Wednesday (8/30). In the place, residents will be trained how to make batik and develop their business.

In that occasion, she said, batik-training center will be the main forum for batik artisans of Marunda Flat. In the flat, there are about 15 designers who accompany residents in learning to make batik.

"We involve many designers for mentoring. By so, the work of batik at Marunda Flat is more qualified," she disclosed.

Through Jakarta Dekranasda, her party intends to facilitate the flat residents in batik marketing. Besides in mall, it will also be exhibited in Jakarta. It is hoped able to increase the passion of residents in batik.

"Hopefully residents here will be more focus and concentration. Thus their work can be more quality," he closed.
