Council Supports City Cooperates with Operators to Arrange Utility

Together with utility operators, Jakarta Provincial Government plans to arrange the utility using ducting through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing. This cooperation is supported by City Council.

"I really agreed with gathering all companies that related to utility cables and cooperating with them,"  said Syarifuddin, Member of City Council Commission B, Sunday (9/17).

According to him, it is time to conduct utility arrangement in Jakarta. Because those unorganized utilities cause damage to sidewalk.

That condition could be happened since there was no solid cooperation between Jakarta Provincial Government and utility operators before.

"By MoU, we hope this problem could be solved with win-win solution," he said.

Separately, another member of City Council Commission B, Yuke Yurike added, MoU should be used to reinforce the rules.

In this case, Jakarta Provincial Government should get a compensation in every utility installation.

"Technically in business, there should be a compensation for government to improve Local Revenue (PAD)," she closed.
