Passengers Complained Train Refund Locket

Commuter Line Train passengers who get off in Tanah Abang Station, Central Jakarta, complained about the service system in the station. Passengers complained about the far location of daily ticket refund locket that should make them walk as far as 400 meters for the train security deposit of Rp 5,000.

This condition occurs as a result of the access stairs from the entrance to the station, which was originally used by passengers to reach the ticket office on the top floor, is now closed. As a result, passengers have to walk out and climb the station stairs to the ticket lockets.

He considered that the system imposed by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) in Tanah Abang station is very troublesome for the passengers. Therefore, passengers are forced to walk around to the outside of the station if they want to take a security deposit at the ticket locket upstairs. "It's a troublesome for passengers. We were told to turn around this far away like this," Mubarak complained.

Similarly, Zaenal (51), other passenger, complained, "Not just some old manlike me who is having trouble, expectant mothers will surely get fatigue easily to walk around like this far."

According to Zaenal, because people are reluctant to let the refund, passengers are forced to walk as far as 400 meters from the station area to climb the stairs at the front entrance of the station.

"If it is charred Rp 5,000, we would better to walk out of the station and climb the stairs of the front of the station," Zaenal uttered.

Tanah Abang Station gate officer, Hasan confirmed that many passengers are protesting the closing of access to the ticket office inside the station. "Yes indeed many of them protest, passengers complained because they have to turn around far away," he explained.

According to Hasan, passengers like these are generally those who are planning to take a security deposit at the ticket booth. Some of the passengers are turning around because they got wrong tickets. "For example, Depok – Serpong ticket, but they buy Depok - Tanah Abang ticket. If from the beginning they buy Depok-Serpong ticket, they do not have to go out, but just transit," Hasan said.

Head of Tanah Abang Station, Mamat Surotman added, that the bail exchange system through the entrance ticket locket at the front station is not applicable for pregnant and blind passengers. "Unless the passenger is blind and pregnant, there is no need to distort through the front entrance station locket .They do not have to turn around, they can refund through the gate in," he explained.
