230 Horses Are Examined Ahead of 2018 Asian Games

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. has examined 230 horses in the capital. It is done to face and welcome the upcoming 2018 Asian Games.

Darjamuni, Head of Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. said his dept. has taken 230 blood samples of horse to make sure no diseases can transmit to other horses.

"Horse population in Jakarta is only 230 animals. So the examination is done one by one. So all we take the blood sample," he expressed, Monday (10/9). 

Asian Games Project Hoped to Be Done on Time

According to him, based on the examination results, all horses in the capital are positively healthy. Currently health results are being sent to the Asian Games committee to be investigated.

"And now we're just awaiting the research results that we send to the committee," he told.

He added it is not only done in Jakarta, but also West Java and Banten. It is a requirement to get the Equine Disease Free Zone (EDFZ) certificate.

"For West Java and Banten, the examination is still being run. Its population is about thousands of horses," he closed.
