W. Jakarta SDA Sub-dept. Wants Buildings on Jelangkeng Riverside to Be Controlled

West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept. Head, Imron Syahrin wants dozens of semi-permanent houses on Jelangkeng riverside, Pekojan Urban Village, Tambora, to be controlled.

Those buildings make it difficult for us to dredge the river

According to him, those buildings which mostly used as selling place have violated the rules and make it difficult for his team to dredge the river.

He added, based on regulation, it is mentioned that only pump house is allowed to be built on the riverside.

"Besides pump house, there are no buildings with any purposes to be built on the riverside, including Jelangkeng riverside. Those buildings make it difficult for us to dredge the river," he affirmed.

Thus, Imron invites other related institutions to maintain and prevent green spaces along the riversides in West Jakarta from illegal buildings.

"It is needed to tighten business location permission, especially on riverside ," he closed.
