Parking Haphazardly, Fined to Rp 500 Thousand

To give deterrent effect for riders who often park their vehicles haphazardly, Jakarta Provincial Government will apply affirmative action. The vehicles caught on parking haphazardly will be towed and fined Rp 500 thousands as stated in Bylaw No 5/2012 on parking.

The motorcycle being towed is Sunardi’s business, whether he want to put it in IRTI or the closest area. It’s not bad, 10 motorcycles can get Rp 5 million

Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, admitted that he has delivered this thing to Head of Management Unit of Parking Division of City Transportation Dept, Sunardi Sinaga. Later on, this way is applied after Sinaga go back from training.

"If a car park haphazardly, we will tow it directly, the owners can be fined to DKI Bank as much as Rp 500 thousand,” said Basuki at City Hall, Wednesday (6/25).

The fine is also applied to two-wheel vehicles. “The motorcycle being towed is Sunardi’s business, whether he want to put it in IRTI or the closest area. It’s not bad, 10 motorcycles can get Rp 5 million,” said Basuki.

Besides that, his party also prepares the last solution related parking in Monas area by building underground parking area. However, since the unavailable underground, the event held by City Government will be limited.

“Therefore, we want to build underground parking area since in the future, the land won’t enough because we don’t have choice. We want to lessen the activities in there (Monas),” said the former Regent of Belitung Timur.
