Second Phase Dredging of Betik River Begins

North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. began to dredge the Betik River. It is the second stage and started from RW 04 Tugu Selatan up to RW 07 Rawa Badak Selatan, Koja Sub-district.

"The first phase of Betik River dredging was already completed by the end of October 2010. Now, the second phase is still being continued," said Santo, Head of North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept., Saturday (11/4).

"It uses self-managed funds, we only buy diesel fuel for heavy equipment because the operators and heavy equipment are ours," he said.
It is targeted to be completed within 1.5 months. He apologized to the local people if the project will disturb them.
