Cultural Art Performance will Be Kicked Off in Johar Baru Soon

Central Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. is going to kick off a cultural art performance in Johar Baru Sub-district. The event is in the framework of community empowerment for the preservation of art and culture.

Sonti Pangaribuan, Head of Central Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. said 150 representatives from four urban villages in Johar Baru Sub-district have been trained since April.

Kota Intan Lokbin will Stage Art Event Until December

"Training has been ongoing since April, and we break in June due to fasting month until October. We plan to hold it again by the end of this month," he stated, Thursday (11/9).

As planned, it will present traditional dance, qosidah (a genre of Arabic-language poetry) and marawis (traditional percussion ensemble). Meanwhile, for the location, he stated, is still in the discussion, between on the courtyard of Johar Baru Sub-district office or in Pulau Gundul RPTRA.
