14 Pump Houses in N. Jakarta Ready to Face Rainy Season

North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. assures 14 pump houses in North Jakarta are in good condition and ready to face inundation during rainy season. To optimize it, water channel dredging is also intensified.

According to Santo, Head of North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept., his sub-dept. has also prepared 11 crossing channels (sodetan) and is also repairing 90 water channels. Even, 5,000 sandbags are ready for use if it is needed to make a temporary dam.

"To prevent inundation, we have done various steps, starting from dredging water channel, preparing stationary pump, mobile pump, portable pump, etc," he expressed, Friday (11/16).

Those pumps that spread in four sub-districts, he continued, are in good condition. Each of them has 2-3 stationary pumps with 500 liters per second capacity.

"We also prepare two mobile pumps with capacity of between 100-200 liters per second. There are also 10 alkon pumps alerted for emergency situation," he closed.
