Jakarta Youth and Sport Dept. (Dispora) with Ministry of Youth and Sport (Kemenpora) hold Judo National Championship.
This is also to find talented Judo athletes, either from Jakarta or other regions
This championship is held on November 26-30, 2017 at Kelapa Gading Judo Sport Center (GOR), North Jakarta.
Jakarta Dispora Head, Ratiyono explained, this event is held to find talented Judo athletes in PPLP/PPLPD and SKO of all Indonesia. Besides, it is held as a friendly meeting between Judo athletes and their coach.

According to him, Judo is one of the sports which is usually contested in every national and international events. Thus it is hoped to give motivation for student athletes in Jakarta and Indonesia.
"There are around 150 participants, divided by 16 classes," he informed.
He hopes, this championship could be held every year thus athletes have a chance to train their skills.
"This is also the early preparation towards national event such as POPNAS XV 2019 that will be held in Papua," he stated.
