Staple Stock During Christmas & New Year is Safe

City Secretary, Saefullah revealed the stock and price of staple food in the capital is still safe ahead of Christmas and New Year.

Steps for next year are being anticipated, hopefully everything can be under control to stabilize inflation

"Based on TPID report, staple price at the market can be controlled. Steps for next year are being anticipated, hopefully everything can be under control to stabilize inflation," he stated, after a joint meeting along with Jakarta TPID team in City Secretary Meeting Room, City Hall, Tuesday (12/19).

No Limit Purchases in Cheap Market

He said some staple food availability that is fairly safe are like rice, sugar, oil, cayenne pepper and curly chili.

"Availability of rice, sugar and oil is safe. Then for cayenne pepper is overproduction and curly chili is still weak. But, so far, the overall food is safe," he told.

To suppress inflation, he furthered, it is also done through non-food control. One of them is the field of transportation.

"Transportation has been fixed. Through Ok Otrip, people may try various transportation by spending Rp 5,000. I think it can help control inflation," he uttered.
