Three TPSs on Sentiong Riverbank Closed Down

Three waste disposal sites (TPS) on Sentiong Riverbank, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta are closed down. As planned, the riverbank will be beautified to make it more comfortable.

Kemayoran Sub-district Head, Herry Purnama said, those three TPSs are namely Gembreng, Sengon and Jalan Bendungan Jago. They were previously used by local people living in Utan Panjang Urban Village and Serdang Urban Village.

"Waste transportation in these TPSs are diverted in evening, and then disposed to Bantargebang Landfill using dump truck," he expressed, Thursday (1/4).

In 2018, he stressed TPS in Kemayoran area will be free cart along the riverbank. Considering there were previously five TPSs closed down. 

"Hopefully Jakarta Environment Dept. can develop an eco-friendly TPS soon on Jalan Dakota Raya, Kebon Kosong. By so, waste transportation can be done well," he stated.
