No personnel allowed to take leave during election day tomorrow. The election needs extra security

“No personnel allowed to take leave during election day tomorrow. The election needs extra security, but we’re only assisting TNI and the police,” stated Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santoso, Tuesday (7/8).

According to Santoso, more than 6,000 Satpol PP personnel will be spread to polling stations (TPS), especially those that are prone to conflicts. As for areas that are getting special security, they are Pluit Reservoir, row villages, and prisons.

Satpol PP personnel will also be focused in TPSs where non-active Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo and Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama will cast their votes, namely TPS 17 Taman Suropati, Menteng, Central Jakarta, and TPS 27 Muara Karang, Pkuit, North Jakarta.

“We have discussed it with the City Police. All personnel and (operational) vehicles must be ready during the election day tomorrow because all citizens are celebrating. Conflict potentials are also big, so they (Satpol PP personnel) must know it until the smallest areas in respective jurisdictions,” he asserted.
