E. Jakarta Prepares Five Mobile Pumps and 18 Pump Houses

East Jakarta Government anticipates flood from Bogor, West Java, by preparing five mobile pumps and 18 pump houses in 10 sub-districts.

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana said, his side has anticipated flood early, either due to local rain or upstream areas such as Bogor, West Java.

"We have prepared five mobile pumps to handle inundation in Kampung Pulo and Cakung Timur. 18 pump houses are also prepared to handle inundation," he mentioned while monitoring Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu, Monday (2/5).

According to him, each mobile pumps has capacity 250 liters per second. Two of five units will be prepared in Kampung Pulo and three others in Cakung Timur. Water Resources Dept. also prepares five pump houses in Kampung Pulo and another two mobile pumps from Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC).

"Katulampa is on alert 1. We remind people in the riverbanks to be more aware, especially areas without sheet piles," he stated.

Currently, Kampung Melayu, Cipinang Melayu, Bidara Cina, Cakung Timur, a nd Kampung Rambutan areas are still inundated.
