Flood Locations in E. Jakarta will Be Disinfected

East Jakarta Government plans to disinfect settlements affected by flood soon after floodwater receded. This is to minimize residents from diseases after flood.

We will do it after floodwater has receded and it can be ensured there will be no flood again

All Community Elements Urged to Synergize Maintain Flood Areas

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana said disinfecting will be done when the floodwater has receded. Not only spraying the remaining mud by using water from fire fighter's truck, but the settlements are also sprayed by disinfectant.

"We will do it after floodwater has receded and it can be ensured there will be no flood again. We coordinate with Health Sub-dept. and Gulkarmat Sub-dept.," he informed, Thursday (2/8).

According to him, disinfecting becomes East Jakarta Government routine work to return the environment to be clean as before. Besides, his side will also protect the residents from chikungunya virus that can be spread through rat urine.

"We have been optimal in handling flood. All related SKPD/UKPD have a good cooperation and fast-response. All communities also care and help each other," he expressed.
