Transjakarta Buses will Be Equipped with Fire Prevention Features

PT. Transjakarta will install fire prevention feature in Transjakarta Bus to provide safety and comfortable for its passengers.

Technically, short cut button will be installed near steering wheel

Transjakarta Director, Budi Kaliwono mentioned, this feature is to prevent fire incident to happen again in Transjakarta bus. This feature will be installed in low entry Transjakarta buses such as Metrotrans prototype.

"Technically, short cut button will be installed near steering wheel. If there are signs of fire, driver can immediately prevent it by pressing the button to turn off the power when there is a spark," he explained in Central Java, Wednesday (2/14).

Besides that, he added, low entry buses are also equipped with 40 millimeters thick styrofoam. This styrofoam can be used for 15 years and can't be burned. Its function is to protect bus by retaining heat from the sun as well as from hot temperature inside the bus in case of fire. 

"Not only that. This styrofoam can also be used to reduce noise from outside of the bus as well as noise from rain," he stated.
