Seribu Islands LH Sub-dept. Socializes The Importance of Waste Management

Seribu Islands Environment (LH) Sub-dept. educates hundreds students and residents about the importance of waste management in Pramuka Island Dumpsite (TPS), Saturday (2/24). This event is not only to commemorate National Waste Care Day (HPSN) 2018, but also to socialize "Pulauku Nol Sampah" program.

HPSN series event is targeted to be done until 100 days ahead

There are hundreds of students from Pramuka Island's schools, from elementary schools, junior high schools, and senior high schools, then also from various communities, environment ambassadors, recycling activists, tourists, and businessmen who runs in waste management program and plastic recycling association.

City Initiates Zero Garbage Movement

"This is done to sync "Pulauku Nol Sampah" program with residents because government also needs residents participation to realize it," said Yusen Hardiman, Head of Seribu Islands LH Sub-dept., Saturday (2/24).

He explained, his side educates the participants about waste management with sorting and ecobrick techniques. Ecobrick technique is to reuse pet bottles by filling it with waste from plastic wrapping.  

"HPSN series event is targeted to be done until 100 days ahead," he stated.
