Cakung Lama River in Rawa Ternate Dredged

Dredging on Cakung Lama River at RW 05, Rawa Ternate Urban Village, Cakung, East Jakarta is started. This dredging is programmed to prevent inundation which is usually happen in local settlements.

Starting today, Cakung Lama River will be dredged to overcome flood in Rawa Terate area

Personnel from East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept. dredge river that has 5-6 meters wide with two excavators.

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana said this dredging is one of Jakarta Governor instructions in handling flood in the area.

Cakung Lama River Cleaned

"Starting today, Cakung Lama River will be dredged to overcome flood in Rawa Terate area. Hopefully this way can prevent flood in this area," he conveyed while monitoring river dredging process, Wednesday (2/28).

According to him, RT/RW administrators and residents should gather and discuss about river widening since the river is narrowed and shallow. Because river widening is the only way to overcome flood.

"We have dredged it for two meters but it still contains mud. Thus we should dredge it deeper and also widen it," he mentioned.
