Bintaro Permai Flyover Completed With Sidewalk

The Bintaro Permai Flyover, South Jakarta that has been trialled is built slightly different than other flyovers.

This flyover that runs from Bintaro to Ulujami is equipped with a sidewalk facility on the right side of the east.

Heru Suwondo, Section Head of Bridge and Road, Jakarta Bina Marga Dept. said, sidewalk is made as access for pedestrians. Considering, the flyover connects the Bintaro and Ulujami areas.

Today, Bintaro Permai Flyover Operation Started

"We prepare it for pedestrians. Because pedestrian mobilization is quite high," he said, after opening Bintaro Permai Flyover trial, Tuesday (3/6).

Through flyover, he assessed, people who want to cross do not need to use the rails. They can use a 1.5-meter-wide sidewalk on the right side of the flyover from the east.

He ensures the sidewalk is safely accessible to pedestrians. It is because, between the heights of the car lane with sidewalk will be made differently. In addition the flyover is also equipped with a wall as high as one meter.

"This sidewalk is only built at Bintaro Permai Flyover," he said.

He also reminds the motorists to be careful when passing on the flyover. It is because it is used for two routes, namely from east to west and vice versa.

"We've put the signs as a barrier. There is also a road marker and a reflector as well. The speed of the vehicle is limited to 40 km per hour," he stated.
