Public Transport Base in Pasar Minggu Makes Traffic Chaotic

Traffic in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, which had been smooth previously, is now chaotic again because public transports based haphazardly to wait for passengers. There are at least three points where public transports based haphazardly, namely at junction next to PD Pasar Jaya Minggu Market, beside Pasar Minggu Station, and at Robinson junction on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu.

Responding this matter, Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Arifin HM, claimed that his ranks continuously monitor and control public transports based haphazardly.

“We have done monitoring in post at Robinson junction all day. We also put tow car on standby. If we found public transports based haphazardly, we’ll warn the drivers. If they ignored it, we’ll tow their vehicles. If the violation repeated, we’ll revoke their licenses,” he stated, Tuesday (7/15).

Meanwhile, Kasman (35), Metromini 75 (Blok M-Pasar Minggu) driver who based at the exit of Pasar Minggu Terminal, said that location is always crowded by passengers.

“We based here because we cannot enter the terminal in the morning due to there are many traders. Besides, deposit money must be given fast. That’s why we based here although it is prohibited. If we were warned, we walk slowly,” he uttered.
