85 Joint Personnel Hold Sidewalk Operation on Jl. Raya Bogor

85 joint personnel held Sidewalk Awareness Month operation on Jalan Raya Bogor, Monday (4/2) afternoon. 14 vehicles were netted due to illegal parking on sidewalk and roadside.

We do this operation routinely on Jalan Raya Bogor because there are many violations

Acting Pasar Rebo Sub-district Head, Panangaran Ritonga said, this operation is routinely done every week but there are still many people who violate the rules such as conducting illegal parking and open stalls on sidewalk.

"We do this operation routinely on Jalan Raya Bogor because there are many violations such as illegal parking and street vendor (PKL) who sells in illegal places," he stated.

168 Vehicles Along Jalan Raya Cacing Netted

He explained, 14 vehicles were netted due to illegal parking on this operation. Six of them were ticketed by officer and two vehicles were towed by East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. (Sudinhub) office.

Besides, one motorcycle and five cars were flattened because parking on sidewalk. His side also reprimands six PKLs who open their stalls and selling on sidewalk to stop their activities.

"On the field, we find many sidewalks are not met the standards and it is used by PKLs as a place to sell their stuffs and road users to park their vehicle illegally. Besides, there are many business places that don't have parking lot thus its costumers park on the sidewalk," he conveyed.
