E. Jakarta Residents Participated in Fire Handling Training

Around 100 people attended to fire handling training in two different locations in East Jakarta, on Thursday (4/12). Besides shared the lesson theoretically, his side also encouraged people to practice handling fire using wet towel and small fire extinguisher (APAR).

In this training, we educate them about fire and ways to handle it while fire incident occurred

Fire handling training was done at secretariat of RW 08 Kelapa Dua Wetan, Ciracas and RW 03 Palmeriam, Matraman. Mostly it was participated by housewives and local RT/RW administrators. Including Jumantik cadres.

Acting East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. Head, Muchtar said, training was given to educate people about fire handling and prevention.

"In this training, we educate them about fire and ways to handle it while fire incident occurred. Then we encourage participants to try extinguishing fire," he stated.

Rahmawati (41), a resident of Kelapa Dua Wetan admitted she was very interested to participate in this training thus she can be prepared if fire occurred from gas stove.

"With this training, we become understand how to prevent fire. Though if it is happened, we have learned how to handle it. This is very useful for residents," she stated.
